SphereMania was established over 12 years ago, and offers the activity ‘hill-rolling’ all over the UK. We are the biggest provider of this activity in the UK, and we are now operating in Europe. We offer variations of the activity – Harness Sphereing, Aqua Sphereing, Eclipse Sphereing.
Harness Sphereing – 2 people climb inside the ball wearing a full harness, and are attached inside the Sphere. As you roll down the hill (really fast) you are going round and round with the ball. It’s extreme (and definintely NOT a gentle ride!) but brilliant fun.
Aqua Sphereing – 1, 2 or 3 people can ride in the Aqua Sphere – along with lots of water. Aqua Sphereing is the friendlier variety of Sphereing, catering for all the family (as long as you’re aware that you will get very very wet!) You are not harnessed in the ball, and basically slip and slide around as gravity and the water take you down the hill at high speed!
Eclipse Sphereing – This is the maddest of all Spheres. Similar to Harness Sphereing, 2 people wearing full harnesses are strapped inside the Sphere., and pushed down the hill. However, in PITCH BLACK TOTAL DARKNESS, Sphereing is a completely different experience. Like being sucked into a black hole, it’s the ultimate thrill ride and very, very extreme!
Air-Sphere is completely different to the ‘hill-rolling’ types of Sphereing (and is owned and operated by a separate Company.) It takes place inside a vertical windtunnel. The Air-Sphere is a smaller ball, which holds 2 people; and is then flown into the air with the help of 160mph winds produced by the tunnel. You don’t wear a harness; you simply climb inside, and hold on tight! Not for the faint-hearted!
You should expect to be on site for around 1 hour. When you book your day you will choose a specific time slot for your ride. Try to arrive just before this time (about 15 mins should be enough) so that you’re ready to sign in at your allocated time.
The roll itself lasts around 30 secs (depending on which location you Sphere at.)
This depends on the voucher that you have, or what booking you have made. Most vouchers entitle the recipient(s) to 1 roll down the hill. Additional rolls can usually be purchased on site on the day of your event (subject to availability.)
There is only enough water in the Sphere for you to splip and slide in - you will not spend time under the water, just in it. SphereMania has very strict H&S regulations and our Spheres and the rides are tested over and over again by various Health&Safety experts.
Directions to the site…if you read, digest and take with you the full information we have sent you via email at the time you made your booking with us, you should find your way to the site you are booked into. This information contains the address of the site, directions to the site and a weather checkline number for you to call before you set off to confirm the session is going ahead. You will already have been asked to POST YOUR VOUCHER to the admin office (this is important), so the guys at the site should know who you are and what time you are coming. If you haven’t posted it in, you must bring it with you on the day of the event, or you won’t be able to Sphere, sorry. If you do not have a voucher, or your voucher is deemed invalid by the site manager, you will need to pay a £40 deposit in cash on site - this will be refunded when we have received a valid voucher from you.
Depending on the type of Sphereing that you are going to be doing, you generally need to wear comfy, non-restrictive clothing with no sharp buckles on, please! For Harness / Eclipse Sphereing you will need to cover your shoulders and neck, and for Aqua Sphereing wear comfy clothes, in the knowledge that you will be getting soaked. You will be asked to take your shoes and all jewellery off before entering the Sphere.

We have great relationships with the many Gift Companies we work with. In order to try to help them, we need you to send us your voucher. As Sphereing happens out in the countryside in the middle of a field, it's not practical for our Franchisees to collect the voucher from you on the day. So we ask that you would post your voucher to the Head Office at the time of making your booking, please. When you book your experience you will receive a confirmation email, including the postal address to send your voucher to, as well as instructions regarding what type of postage we recommend.

Sphereing® is a weather dependent activity, with most of our sites operating from April to September (although Winter Sphereing® may be available at selected sites)

Yes we do. Most of our locations offer catering facilities, and we offer a 10% discount on 10 rolls (20 people) or more.
